Production - places I'm going

 Hello!

I am going to New York, and while I am there I plan on taking photos that I can use in my magazine. Since my magazine is about soccer and different ways people play the sport, New York could be a really good place to capture unique photos. There are many parks and public areas where people play pickup soccer or practice different soccer games, so I hope to take pictures of people playing and enjoying the sport.

While I am in New York, I am also planning to try and do a few short interviews with people who are playing. I want to ask them simple questions about why they like playing soccer, how often they play, and if they have ever played games like soccer tennis or pickup soccer. Their answers could help me add real opinions and experiences into my feature article.

Taking photos and doing interviews in New York could make my magazine feel more realistic and interesting because it will include real people and real locations. It will also help make the feature article stronger since I will have both pictures and quotes from people who actually play the game. This should make the magazine look more like a real sports magazine and help support the topic of my article.

production- first pictures

Hello!

I decided to take

some photos to test the best way to take pictures for my magazine. I did this while playing soccer tennis so I could try different angles and see what kind of action shots I could capture. Since soccer tennis has a lot of movement, it was a good way to practice taking photos of players while they are moving and interacting with the ball.

These photos will most likely not make it into the final magazine because they are mainly just test runs. The goal of taking these pictures was to experiment with different ways of taking photos and to see what works best before I take the final pictures for the magazine. For example, I tried taking pictures from different distances, different angles, and at different moments during the game to see which ones looked the best.

After taking the photos, I will go through them and look closely at things like the lighting, the angle, and the timing of the shot. I want to see which pictures capture the action the best and which ones look the most interesting. This will help me understand what I should do differently or improve when I take the final photos for my magazine.

Overall, this process helps me practice and get better results later on. By doing these test photos first, I can make sure that when I take the real pictures for the magazine, they will look better and fit the style of a sports magazine more closely.

Planning-Production timeline

 Hello!

Week 1:

During the first week, I will focus on planning and taking most of the photos I need for my magazine. I will take pictures for the cover and for the feature article. While doing this, I will also look at my original plan and make changes if something doesn’t work out the way I expected. This will help me stay on track and make sure I don’t fall behind later.

I will also start organizing my magazine by planning my layout and beginning my table of contents. If I finish taking the photos early, I will start putting them into InDesign and do some basic editing like cropping and adjusting the lighting.

Week 2:

In the second week, I will focus more on writing and designing the magazine. I will start writing my feature article and continue working on my table of contents. I will also begin designing my cover page by adding the main photo, title, and some headlines that match the topic of the magazine.

During this week I will continue editing my photos and placing them into my magazine layout in InDesign. If I realize I need more photos, I will take them during this week so I still have time to add them before finishing the project.

Week 3:

In the third week, I will focus on finishing the magazine and making final changes. I will go through everything to make sure the layout looks good and that all the pages are organized correctly. I will check for spelling or grammar mistakes and make sure the table of contents matches the pages.

I will also add final details like captions, page numbers, and any other design elements to make the magazine look more complete. After reviewing everything one more time, I will make any last edits and get the magazine ready to turn in.

Planning-Cover, table of contents, feature article plan

 Hello?

Cover:

To start, I’m planning on having my cover image be of a famous soccer player like Messi because I already took a picture of him before. I will use that image as the main cover photo and design the rest of the cover around it. I will also explain the cover image and include the magazine cover conventions that we learned in class, such as the masthead, cover lines, main headline, and the main image. My goal is to make the cover look realistic and similar to a real sports magazine.

Table of contents:

For the table of contents, I will create different sections to make it look like a full magazine, even though I will mainly be focusing on one feature article. I will include page numbers, section titles, and short descriptions of what would be on each page. I will also add photos and design elements to make the page look more interesting and professional, like a real magazine’s table of contents.

Feature articles:

For the feature article, I am planning to write about either street soccer/pickup games or soccer tennis. I want to choose one of these topics because they are a little different compared to what most soccer magazines usually focus on. Instead of just talking about professional soccer, I want to show another side of the sport that people can play for fun. In the article, I will explain what the game is, how people play it, and why it is popular. I will also include photos and design elements to make the article more engaging.

Planning-Location/mise-en-scene plan

 Hello!

I have to plan what will be in my photos for the magazine and the location of the photos

Location:

I'm planning on taking my photos at a soccer field because the magazine is about soccer but I have to go on a day that there are no games or practices or go before/after the games or practices. There are many different soccer fields that are in the area where I can take these photos. I also have to make sure they look good because I don't want my photos to look bad.

Mise-en-scene:

for my mise-en-scene I have to plan what I and the other people will wear and what props I need to use as I have already decided where I'm going to take the photos. for the costumes I'm going to wear a jersey from either Mexico or club America and the other people in the pictures will wear a different jersey so that it can seem as if there's two teams.

Also at the same time I have to have props to make them even better. I'm planning on having a soccer ball for sure and maybe some cones. I will also need some goals so that i can make it look like I'm actually playing or practicing
