I decided to look more into the technical elements of a sports magazine to get an even better understanding of the magazine so it can be easier to write.

 Color & Visual Style

Color scheme is Often bold and energetic to match sports themes and keep the magazine more interesting, Contrast Helps important elements stand out and pop. Brand consistency Same fonts and colors used across issues to make a brand it help a brand pop out.

 Content Structure

Cover lines are used for Teasers for featured stories. Feature articles are In-depth stories or interviews that are the main idea kinda its what most people grab the magazine for. Sidebars are Extra facts, stats, or quick reads. Pull quotes are used to Highlight powerful statements

the lay out and design of a sports magazine can be cut up into many parts. the Grid system is used to Organize text and images so pages look clean and balanced ,while Columns Makes long articles easier to read. White space Prevents pages from feeling cluttered Margins & gutters help Create structure and flow between pages

 Typography

the Masthead which is The magazine’s title (usually bold and recognizable), Headlines helps Grab attention and set the tone, Subheadings Break up text and guide the reader, Body text Clean, readable fonts for articles, Captions help Explain photos and add context

 Photography & Graphics

Action shots can help Capture intensity and movement in sports, Portraits are used to Highlight athletes and personalities, Info graphics are used to show stats, scores, and comparisons visually, Illustrations can be Used occasionally for style or storytelling

Now that I have somewhat decided that I'm going to do sports for my magazine project I decided to research the many design trends not just for sports magazines but sports media in general.

Fonts

Most sports magazines like to use fonts that are big, bold, and grab your attention to try and grab the readers attention while also helping bring a high contrast to designs.

colors

To capture the attention of people bright colors and neon glow are often used.these also help bring excitement and energy to the people seeing it while also capturing there attention.

isolated photos

many magazine covers use isolated or cut-out photos often.This can help show off certain players like the ones that everyone knows or the ones that are doing good which allows there fans to get their attention peaked.

Research - Exploring different genres

Hello!

I'm going to do the magazine cover for my final project. I have been looking into the many different genres as there are many to choose from.These were my main 3 choices.

Choice One: Art and entertainment

I thought about art and entertainment because there are so many different things to talk about like music paintings and movies can even go into this genre.The only problem is that I don't have the most knowledge about all the different types of categories.

Choice two: Food and Drink

I then thought of doing food and drink as it is something that everyone loves and talks about and could be easy to get information about.I just think that it can be a little boring to do as my final project.

Choice three: sports

I ultimately decided that I wanted to do sports because I love F1 and soccer and I have a lot of photos and knowledge about them. It will also be fun to write about.So at the moment I think I'm going to do sports as my genre for the magazine
